ABOUT US:

"Fulfilling the Wish of the Weary"

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." — Isaiah 40:31

Benevolence Children Care and Community Skilling Center (BCCCSC) is a professional Community-Based Organization (CBO) dedicated to the restoration and empowerment of vulnerable populations in Mparo, Southwestern Uganda. We combine years of professional social work with the raw empathy of those who have walked the path of the vulnerable.

Our mission is to transform the "whispers" of crisis into a roar of opportunity, ensuring that every child rescued and every youth skilled is empowered with the dignity, safety, and professional standards of care they deserve .

Our Story: A Foundation of Personal Sacrifice

BCCCSC was born from the heart of our Founder, Muhoozi Obed—a son of Mparo who triumphed over orphanhood and extreme poverty to earn a degree in Social Work. Obed rose from these humble beginnings to participate in the impactful work of global and local institutions like Compassion International and The Kabale Shepherd Center.

Driven by a promise to help others facing the same struggles, Obed used his personal savings to establish this organization. The community's need was proven on our very first day, when 48 vulnerable children sought help and 43 youth registered for training immediately. Today, we continue to receive daily calls from families across Rukiga seeking a path out of poverty .

The Reality: Why We Are Needed in Mparo

The challenges facing our community are significant and require professional intervention. In Mparo Town Council:

  • Youth Unemployment: 50\% of youth (ages 18-30) are currently not in education, employment, or training.

  • Economic Struggle: 44.2\% of households remain trapped in a subsistence economy.

  • Health Crisis: Only 36 individuals in the Town Council are reported to have health insurance, leaving families vulnerable to medical catastrophes.

  • Untold Hardships: Many children drop out of school due to the loss of parents to Chronic Illnesses, extreme poverty, or crop destruction by floods and drought.

Our Strategic Pillars of Impact

1. OVC Care & Protection

We shield Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) from the cycle of poverty through school supplies, tuition assistance, and mentorship. Our long-term vision is the Mparo Children’s Haven, a permanent sanctuary providing full-time protection, nutritional security, and professional psychosocial healing for children recovering from trauma.

2. The 7-Skill Community Hub

We turn weariness into work by equipping youth and young mothers with market-ready trades. Our professional curriculum, aligned with the standards of the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT), focuses on high-impact industries :

  • Bakery & Confectionery: Commercial food production.

  • Tailoring & Fashion Design: Garment construction and design.

  • Construction: Carpentry, Joinery, and Masonry.

  • Technical: Electrical Installation.

  • Wellness: Hairdressing and Cosmetology.

  • Production: Liquid soap and jelly (Vaseline) for immediate income.

3. Sustainable Agriculture: "Farming God’s Way"

We believe a family capable of feeding itself is a family with dignity. Using the Farming God’s Way model, we train households in sustainable, high-yield techniques like "God’s Blanket" (100% mulch coverage) and no-tillage farming to combat climate challenges and restore soil productivity.

4. Health, Wellness & Dignity

We provide Menstrual Health Management (MHM) training and sanitary kits to ensure no girl misses school because of her period. We also support families managing chronic illnesses, such as Asthma, Diabetes, or HIV/AIDS, ensuring they can balance health with survival.

Our Commitment: Transparency & Inclusivity

To ensure we serve our community with total integrity, we are guided by strict ethical standards:

  • Inclusive: We do not discriminate; our doors are open to everyone regardless of tribe, status, or faith [User

  • Independent: We are a non-political organization focused solely on community restoration

  • Accountable: Governed by a 9-member Management Committee chaired by Rtd. Rev. Edward Tibaitu, we maintain strict triple-signatory protocols for all bank transactions and conduct annual independent audits

A Promise Kept

"This graduation moment was years in the making. Beyond just tuition, Stella Zaimi provided the foundational support I needed to thrive—covering my medical care, basic necessities, and health throughout my studies. Her belief in me was the first step toward the restoration of our community."

FROM ONE LIFE TO MANY

"BCCCSC was born from a legacy of global partnership. Stella’s investment in Muhoozi Obed’s education from A-Level through University proves that when we empower one leader, we uplift an entire region. We are turning her visionary generosity into a permanent engine for change in the Kigezi Highlands."

A Future for Mparo

"Stella’s heart has always been for the people. Seeing her walk among our children reminds us why we do this work: to ensure the next generation grows up healthy and supported. We invite you to join this circle of care that started with one student and now reaches hundreds."

Dr.Jocelyn Lee,
US-FNP-MSN Founder, Heart of Care Providers

"I chose to support this dream because even in moments of self-doubt which we all experience, I saw Obed’s genuine desire and heart for his community. He simply needed encouragement, a belief in himself, and a place to begin. I am wishing him truly all the best and I already know he is impacting the lives of others around him! I believe the process will be just as rewarding as the impact he will have."

Locally Rooted. Professionally Managed.

Today, BCCCSC is a fully registered Community-Based Organization (Reg. No. 317) licensed to operate through 2030. We are governed by a 9-member committee that combines spiritual grounding with professional expertise. We have moved from 'charity' to 'empowerment' by focusing on the 91 orphans and young mothers who are ready to work for their own future.

From a Humble Home to an Industrial Hub

Our story is currently at its most critical chapter. While we currently operate from our Founder’s home in Mparo, our vision has outgrown our walls. We have the legal mandate and 91 eager students, but we lack the dedicated space and tools they deserve.

We are now in the process of raising $188,200. This capital is the "Key to the Future"—it will allow us to transition from a home-based pilot into a fully-equipped Industrial Skilling Hub featuring 7 professional trades. We aren't just teaching skills; we are building a foundation of dignity where Mparo’s youth become the producers of tomorrow.

Phionah Mbabazi

Gospel Outreach & Community Partner

"I thank the Lord for the vision of BCCCSC. During the 2025 Christmas holiday, I saw this vision start working firsthand. I had the blessing to minister to the children and the elderly, and we saw so much joy as we shared the Word of the Lord. I believe in this mission because it is about holding each other’s hands. Even with the 'small' they had, Obed and his family gave so that the people of Mparo could smile and move forward."

At Benevolence Children Care and Community Skilling Center (BCCCSC), we are dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and enhancing community skills. Through our various programs and initiatives, we strive to create a positive impact on the lives of children and families in our community.
